We are set up as a Limited Company with a single asset – Morpheus – and the only Shareholders are the Owners of weeks. There is no management company nor any other ‘stakeholders’. So our annual maintenance fees are kept as low as possible. The beauty of Shared Ownership is that it means what it says! You buy a share, it is yours to keep until you want to sell it (subject, of course, to abiding by the Shareholder Agreement!). Collectively it is up to all of us to keep her fully operational and well-maintained – she is our asset and it is in our best interests to look after her.
Although we all love Morpheus, from time to time circumstances may result in an Owner wishing to sell one or more of their Shares.
In our scheme, if you decide to sell your Share(s) you must first give the other Owners the opportunity to buy them – the process is simple and is fully described in the Shareholder Agreement. If there is no interest from the other Owners you, are able to sell your Shares in any way you feel is best and you can sell at any price you agree with your purchaser. On completion there is a simple process to transfer your Shares to the new Owner.
